The game is still at least a year away from release

The Blackout Club is a new co-op game from ex BioShock and Dishonored developers who promise both an exciting journey and a terrifying experience.

One of the problems with modern horror games is that they are pretty much the same, with jump scares, barely lit rooms, and generic monsters/zombies. Sure, they’ll scare you, but they won’t frighten you. There are some exceptions, of course, but for the most part, it’s a gaming world full of clones.

Fortunately, not all developers are the same. A few people that worked on titles such as Bioshock 2 and Dishonored stated their own studio and are doing their own thing. In this case, it’s an innovative co-op horror game that promises to really scare you.

It’s all about proving that evil exists

The story centers group a group of teens that realize that they’ve been going unconscious from time to time, with no recollection of what they’ve done. Furthermore, one of them has gone missing. Nobody in town believes them, so they take it upon themselves to find evidence and to film anything that can help them prove what they are saying.

Of course, all the action will take place mostly during the night, and players will have to coordinate their actions and plan diversions. If you expect to also survive during the night, in a terrifying environment, while trying to film something awful, it’s easy to understand why people will definitely remember this experience.

“Player characters will be customizable with a variety of powers and equipment loadouts. Every member of the group will play a distinct role and utilize devices like drones or deployable traps to outwit their foes and gather evidence of their crimes. When the mission is complete, players will head back to the hideout, where they can level up and acquire new abilities for use on future outings,” noted the developers from Question Games.

The Blackout Club is still a long way out, and it’s expected to arrive in Q1 2019 for the PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4.
