If you haven't yet tried out Telegram instant messenger, then you're probably not aware that the service has just reached 100M monthly active users.

Aside from that, developers have just announced a new version is now available on Android and iOS platforms. But if you do have Telegram installed, then you should definitely check for the update since it contains many new features and improvements.

According to developers, they have done extensive enhancements to Telegram. For example, the Quick Share menu now allows users to copy links to individual messages inside a channel.

All these links can be sent to friends outside of Telegram, or you can simply post them to other social networks, but keep in mind that following this type of links will open the channel and highlight the message.

The update also brings Silent Messages. If you're a channel admin you will now be able send “silent messages” that will not notify your subscribers. With the new admin signatures feature, admins will be able to enable signatures in Channel Info.

You can now edit messages in channels and supergroups

Also, Telegram users will now be able to edit their messages after they are posted. You can do that by tapping the message (double tap on iOS), then press “Edit.”

There's also a new quick share button for bots that makes it easier to share the links, pictures and video that you receive from bots.

Last but not least, sticker previews should now work everywhere including sticker suggestions when users type an emoji and the “Add stickers” screen.

You can now download Telegram for Android for free via Google Play Store. The application should be fully compatible with all devices running Android 2.3 and up.

For iOS users, the application is available for free via App Store. It should work smoothly on all devices running iOS 6.0 or later.
