14 DAY TRIAL // Taylor Swift and Calvin Harris are no longer a couple. The split is not definitive just yet, but it’s bound to turn so very soon: they are now on a break, reevaluating their relationship, a report in this week’s print issue of Grazia magazine says (story via Metro).
The two dated for about 7 months, but going public with the relationship in the press and on social media ended up putting too much pressure on it. Insiders claim that both got freaked out by wedding rumors, so they decided to take it down a notch or two.
Taylor and Calvin are done, and it’s not amicable
It wasn’t just the wedding rumors that did them in though, insiders claim. Calvin found Taylor’s Girl Squad obnoxious and he disliked how much media craziness she would (unwillingly) generate whenever they were out on a date.
In the end, he realized that she wasn’t what he had imagined, or rather that being in a relationship with her was much more work than he thought at first.
She wasn’t happy with him either. A short while ago, he was photographed leaving a seedy Thai spa and she was furious with him twice over: once for going there, and the other time for having his picture taken as he was leaving the establishment, thus bringing embarrassment on her.
“The relationship went from 0-60 in a matter of weeks, so it was perhaps inevitable that things might come crashing down,” says a spy. “Taylor was incandescent with rage when she saw the pictures and told him she wanted to break it off with him then and there. She felt humiliated that her boyfriend had been caught at such a seedy place.”
The 3-month Taylor Swift deadline
Assuming the above report is accurate and Taylor and Calvin really broke up or are on a break leading towards a definitive split, they still have made it for much longer than most of her relationships.
Until not long ago, Taylor had a tabloid persona of a young woman who dated famous men for 3 months tops, after which she would get dumped because she’d start pressuring them into something more serious / marriage.
That last part was probably fiction, but there was no denying that most of her boyfriends, with whom she made sure she stepped out in public weeks from their first date, barely lasted 3 months around. These include Jake Gyllenhaal, John Meyer or Harry Styles.
Styles was actually her last boyfriend before Harris, and she even said, during the promo tour for the album “1989” that she was done with boys for the time being. Obviously, she thought Harris was something else to have made her change her mind.
