Now that Google has released the stable version of its operating system, the question on many people’s minds is whether and when they will receive the update to their phones, especially if their devices are locked to a carrier’s network. T-Mobile has come to the aid of its customers and has posted a list of all Samsung and HTC handsets that will receive updates to Android 7.0 Nougat.

T-Mobile has posted a list of Samsung and HTC devices that are expected to receive updates to Android 7.0 Nougat. The list includes just two HTC phones, the flagship HTC 10 and HTC One M9. In addition, T-Mobile will be offering Android 7.0 Nougat updates to a bunch of Samsung smartphones, including the Galaxy Note 5, Galaxy Note 7, Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 edge, Galaxy S6 edge+, Galaxy S7, and Galaxy S7 edge.

We were certain that the Galaxy Note 7 would receive the update, since Samsung’s execs confirmed this during the smartphone’s launch.

Unfortunately, T-Mobile hasn’t mentioned when the update will arrive on these devices and which will receive it first.

However, the carrier will indicate the stages of the update process, and the smartphones are currently in the first stage, called the manufacturer development, in which T-Mobile and HTC or Samsung have agreed to support the new software update. Stage two involves testing while the update will start rolling out in stage three.

Android 7.0 Nougat comes with Split Screen and Direct Reply

Google’s Android 7.0 Nougat certainly comes with several features that will get many excited about the latest version of the Android OS. Aside from Direct Reply, there are also additional emojis, split screen apps, app switching, better notifications, reduced battery life, and enhanced quick settings.

These are just the enhancements brought in the first stable version, but rumors say that Google’s next version, Android 7.1 Nougat, will come with all of the exciting features that fans expected to see in the version released earlier this week. The next update is said to bring Google’s Assistant, the Nexus Launcher, and a customizable navigation bar.
