The promotional offer is only available until February 7

Major U.S. carrier T-Mobile has kicked off an interesting promotional offer that will run until February 7. The deal is aimed at Samsung fans who don't want to wait until the South Korean company launches its next flagship, the Galaxy S8.

Starting February 1, customers who purchase either the Galaxy S7 or Galaxy S7 edge will receive a year of Netflix from T-Mobile. Obviously, the smartphones must be purchased through T-Mobile's official retail channels.

The deal is available to those who lease one of the two Samsung phones. T-Mobile also mentions that those who qualify for the promotion will receive a single-use code, which they can redeem by March 31, 2017.

Keep in mind, though, that you will have to Register with Samsung at www.samsungpromotions.com/WinterNetflix until February 21, enter your device information, and then upload your receipt.

Although Samsung has already kicked off the rollout of Android 7.0 Nougat for the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge, T-Mobile's versions will ship with the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow operating system on board.

An upgrade to Android 7.0 Nougat will most likely be available in the not-so-distant future since T-Mobile has already started testing the update earlier this week.

At first glance, this looks like another incentive meant to keep customers interested in buying Samsung flagship smartphones. Considering the Galaxy S8 has been delayed this year and will arrive about one month later than the Galaxy S7, Samsung must do everything in order to keep selling high-end smartphones.

The partnership with T-Mobile and Netflix is just an example that might or might not boost the Galaxy S7/S7 edge sales as much as Samsung might want. Still, it's time that the South Korean company needs most, not profit.

According to the latest reports, the Galaxy S8 won't start selling until late April, so there are still two months left in which Samsung must continue to sell last year's flagship.
