In a surprising turn of events, Microids announced a new Syberia game ahead of Gamescom 2021, which will be available at the end of the year. Called Syberia: The World Before, the game will be launched on PC on December 10, but fans of the series can already pre-order the standard or digital deluxe edition versions.

It looks like Benoit Sokal’s saga will continue with the same protagonist, the beloved Kate Walker. In the upcoming Syberia: The World Before, Kate will take on the fascist movement Brown Shadow, as she tries to discover her link with Dana Roze while facing multiple threats in different time periods.

In fact, Syberia: The World Before will allow players to step into the shoes of both Kate Walker and Dana Roze characters, as they get to the bottom of mysteries that have remained buried for too long.

Dana Roze is a 17-year-old girl living in Vaghen in the mid-30s. She has a brilliant career as a pianist, which is suddenly endangered by the fascist threat of the Brown Shadow that hangs over Europe. Then, players will be moving to 2004 and take the role of Kate Walker who survives the best she can in a salt mine in the Taiga where she has been imprisoned.

Syberia: The World Before will send players on an adventure across continents and through time, as they explore the fantastic world of Benoit Sokal featuring breathtaking landscapes and iconic characters. Of course, players should also expect complex puzzles and riddles waiting to be solved, as well as a rich and captivating story.

As far as the music goes, one of the strong points of every Syberia titles, the upcoming game will feature the symphonic soundtrack composed by Inon Zur, known for his work on Syberia 3, Fallout, Dragon Age, and Prince of Persia.
