It's only been five days since the long-awaited Syberia 3 game hit the shelves and it has already been cracked.

The Syberia series began some 15 years ago, with the first game of the series being released on January 9, 2002. The second trip into this wonderful land alongside Kate Walker came two years later, in 2004.

Ever since then, fans have awaited the third game, mostly hoping that it would one day see the light of day. Finally, in 2009, Microids announced the game was being developed, following the story written by the same Benoit Sokal who was responsible for the original trips in the first place. They aimed to release the game in 2010.

2010 came and went with no release, despite promises from Microids. A year later, Sokal admitted that the work on the game hadn't even started yet due to lack of funding. Still, the fans hoped.

In 2012, Microids revealed they'd signed a contract with Sokal for the story of Syberia III. The game was scheduled to release in 2014 or early 2015, which, yet again, didn't happen. It was then said to see the light of day in the fall of 2016, with an actual trailer being released in June 2016.

The light at the end of the tunnel

Finally, April 20, 2017 came and Syberia III was actually released. The game is available for PCs, Macs, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. It can be bought off numerous online platforms and in stores and it has received generally good reviews thus far.

What Microids was probably not betting on is for the game to be cracked so soon. Torrent sites are now full of cracked versions of the title, although those who have downloaded them accuse some issues, saying that the game doesn't work with a controller, despite the developers advising players to use one to get the best experience.
