Finnish company HMD Global is expected to release Nokia smartphones in the coming year, and two of the devices have already been announced. Nokia 150 and Nokia 150 Dual SIM are the first feature phones with Nokia branding and will be made available starting Q1 2017.

However, recent rumors show that the company is working on yet another smartphone, one that will allegedly be Nokia’s flagship for the coming year. If the information is correct, it’s safe to say that the Android-running phone will surely catch the attention of the market.

Images of the supposed Nokia P were spotted on Chinese social network Weibo (via PA). The pictures reveal the front and back panels of the phone, with the Nokia branding on the rear. The device appears to be coming in a gray color variant and the back clearly resembles the design of the OnePlus 3, with a line at the top of the phone, right above the rear camera.

Nokia P could come with SD835 SoC and Adreno 540 GPU

Some specs were also revealed; the smartphone might be running Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset coupled with the Adreno 540 graphics processing unit. The chipset is said to offer download speeds of up to 1Gbps and have a design that incorporates four large and four small octa-cores.

Considering the highly capable SD835 SoC, RAM capacity should also be impressive, the leak points to 6GB and a very impressive 23MP rear camera with Zeiss lens. The smartphone might also have Quad HD display resolution.

There’s not much information about this upcoming smartphone, but some rumors indicate that HMD might announce the device during MWC 2017, set to take place in February. Indeed, the company said it would start small and announce some Android smartphones next year. The two Nokia phones that it recently unveiled came with a physical keyboard, 2.4-inch displays and VGA cameras. Nokia C1 is also expected to make an appearance next year.
