The farm sim meets story-based adventure game Summer in Mara has finally received a release, two years after its official reveal. As the title says, the indie game is set for release on June 16 on PC (via Steam) and Nintendo Switch.

Although it doesn't have a price yet, those interested can try out the prologue of the game, which is now available for free on Steam. It's also worth adding that the Summer in Mara prologue will be available on Nintendo Switch as well, but players will be able to download it closer to launch.

According to developer Chibig, Summer in Mara will be coming to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One later this year, so if these are your gaming platforms, you'll have to wait a bit longer.

For those not in the loop, Summer in Mara is a mix of farming simulation and story-based adventure mixed into one as players will visit new islands, make new friends, and learn more about the evil corporation Elit, which wants to conquer Mara.

Players will step into the shoes of Koa, a young girl living on her own island with her grandmother, Yaya Haku. Players must harvest their crops, fish on their pond, chop down trees, and pay close attention to all the tasks that Yaya Hakui will give them.

Summer in Mara is a single-player experience in a calm, relaxing environment, with a handmade look and a compelling narrative. Also, character development is a huge focus and this is reflected in the care put into the friends met, and the anecdotes of their travels.

Apparently, the game should offer players more than 30 hours of playtime with 250+ missions to set off on and 20+ characters to meet and befriend. Along with a host of upgrades, secrets, and treasure to find, Summer in Mara promises to deliver a full-fledged, fun experience for all ages.
