Several other Warner Bros. project have been pushed back too

Initially unveiled back in 2020, Rocksteady’s Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League has been reportedly pushed back by at least one year. Although publisher Warner Bros. confirmed two months ago that the game is on track for a 2022 release, it appears that is no longer the case.

A new report by Jason Schreier (via Bloomberg) claims Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League has been quietly delayed until 2023. In support of the report that claims the game might have been delayed, the publisher’s Chief Executive Officer Jason Kilar posted on Twitter that his company’s release schedule includes “delivering of a full slate of highly anticipated games.”

Among the logos attached to the message we could count the Harry Potter-based game Hogwarts Legacy and the Batman game Gotham Knights, but Rocksteady’s Suicide Squad has been left out.

Although Warner Bros. delayed several other projects that should have been released last year, none seem to be scheduled for 2023. Both the Harry Potter and Batman games remain on track for a 2022 release, while the LEGO version of Star Wars has already been confirmed for release on April 5.

While Warner Bros. has yet to confirm the information, the rumored delay comes at a strange moment as the most recent footage for Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League was released in December 2021, and the game looked quite well.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is the story of a band of comic book antiheroes facing off brainwashed superheroes. The Suicide Squad includes Harley Quinn, King Shark, Deadshot, and Captain Boomerang, but there are a lot more superheroes in the game. Each of member of the squad can be customized with unique weapons and abilities.

Rocksteady’s last game, Batman: Arkham Knight was released back in 2015, so their new project must have been in the works for the last seven years or so.
