Designer imagines what the iPhone 7 could look like

Rumor has it that the iPhone 7 could ditch the audio jack in favor of a Lightning connector serving all connectivity purposes, as Apple is looking into ways to make the device thinner and lighter.

And while the company remains tight-lipped on everything related to the iPhone 7, Behance designer Arthur Reis has created one of the most stunning concepts imagining the upcoming device.

As you can see in the photo gallery after the jump, this imagined iPhone 7 would retain the traditional look of the iPhone but would also come with several upgrades, including new side buttons for volume.

No mic, but another speaker

But certainly, the biggest change would be the removal of the audio headphones connector, as the Lightning port could be used not only for charging and data transfers but also for listening to music. Word has it that Apple might be planning to bundle Lightning headsets in the box with the iPhone 7 while at some point in the future, possibly with the “S” update, the company could go even further and offer wireless headphones too.

This concept imagines not only an iPhone 7 without a headphone jack but also one that comes with another speaker in the place of the audio port, as analysts believe that this is the approach that Apple is aiming for with the upcoming model.

And while the concept definitely looks great because it offers perfect symmetry at the bottom of the phone, there’s just one problem: there’s no mic, so Apple should find a different place to install it. On the current model, it’s positioned right next to the 3.5mm audio port.

The iPhone 7 is expected to launch in the fall of 2016, so expect many more rumors to reach the web until this happens. So take everything with a pinch of salt for now and have a look at the photo gallery below.
