Capcom is clearly aware that it still has work to do in order to convince that the shaky launch for Street Fighter V was just an accident. Now, the company is ready to confirm that the new character coming to the fighting title is fan favorite Guile and that a number of other tweaks are also planned for the coming major update.

The new fighter was first seen in Street Fighter II, and he was part of the complex narrative of the series ever since while also being part of the biggest crossover experiences that feature the franchise, including Street Fighter x Tekken, Marvel vs. Capcom series, and Capcom vs. SNK 2.

Guile will be offered for free to all those playing Street Fighter V before the end of the month and will come with his own narrative and set of associated trials, with a battle costume offered to those who have a Season Pass.

Capcom states, "Guile retains his ability to dominate both the ground and air with his solid normal attacks and special moves, such as Sonic Boom and Somersault Kick. He also now has the ability to enter a crouch walk state called Faultless Move which allows him to keep his charge while moving forward, giving him, even more, options in his kit to keep his opponents in line."

The V-Skill for the new character is Sonic Blade, a stationary projectile that can also improve his sonic boom attacks while his V-Trigger is Solid Puncher, which allows a gamer to deliver sonic booms with each button, varying speeds to keep opponents off balance.

Sonic Hurricane is the critical art for Guile, and he will also get a first unique stage, the Air Force Base, which will be offered for free to Season Pass holders and will cost other 70,000 Fight Money.

Street Fighter V will finally get a solid Rage Quit system

Since the game was first introduced, fans have complained about the impact that those who disconnect during matches are having on their experience, and Capcom says that it plans to automatically identify those who drop out and then lock them out of matchmaking for certain periods of time.

An in-game message will be used to notify them of their offenses, and the company says that it plans to improve on the concept as it receives feedback from the player base.

The matchmaking system in Street Fighter V will also get some tweaks, with loosened restrictions for opponents, which should result in more battles for those in Europe and other areas of the world.
