14 DAY TRIAL // iOS users have one more reason to be happy, besides the fact that Apple debuts iOS 9 later today. A brand new skill-based game called Stranded: Mars One has just been released in App Store and promises to offer an addictive core gameplay loop.
Developed by Spanish studio Tama Games, Stranded: Mars One is a side-scroller with retro, pixel-style graphics. It's free-to-play, so players won't have to pay anything to try it out.
According to developers, the game is centered around a little astronaut's efforts to find a way back home after his spaceship crash-landed on Mars.
The story behind the game seems to have something in common with "The Martian" movie, starring Matt Damon, which is based on Andy Weir's book.
Anyway, Stranded: Mars One comes with no less than 40 challenging levels spanning across five different type of terrains.
The folks over at Tama Games decided to implement one-touch controls, besides the clever level design and asynchronous multiplayer mode.
Android users will have to wait a bit
Keep in mind that, in order to complete the most challenging levels, you will have to gather as many power-ups as possible. Stranded: Mars One also features some customization options and Game Center achievements.
Last but not least, the asynchronous multiplayer includes ghost races and Facebook friend challenges, so if you're more into this aspect, then you can definitely try it out in Stranded: Mars One.
You can now download Stranded: Mars One for iOS for free via App Store. The game should be fully compatible with all devices running iOS 6 or later.
It's also worth mentioning that, while the game is available for free, it comes with in-app purchases, so if you don't want to spend real money, you can disable this feature from the settings.
Developers have also promised that an Android version of Stranded: Mars One is already in the works and will be released in the near future.
