14 DAY TRIAL // Initially launched on Apple Arcade, South of the Circle is a narrative adventure that was nominated for an Apple Design Award and at the DICE Awards. A unique experience about memory, survival, and the consequences of not dealing with the past, South of the Circle is developed by BAFTA-winning studio State of Play.
After making its debut on iOS, published 11 bit studios announced today that South of the Circle is coming to PC (via Steam and GOG), PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch on August 3.
In South of the Circle, players step into the shoes of Peter, a Cambridge academic led into the frozen nooks of Antarctica. There, at the crossroads of the past and present clashing inside his mind, he must not only fight for his survival but also contemplate his entire life and the choices he’s made along the way.
The game tells a love story between Peter and fellow academic Clara, one that forces the protagonist to learn the weight of all the things he has promised.
The cinematic story of the game is set during the Cold War era of the 1960s and brought to life thanks to a star-studded voice-acting cast, including Anton Lesser (“Game of Thrones”, “Star Wars: Andor”), Gwilym Lee (“Bohemian Rhapsody”), Olivia Vinall (“The Woman in White”), Richard Goulding (“The Crown”), Adrian Rawlins (“Chernobyl”), and Michael Fox (“Downton Abbey”). Moreover, South of the Circle uses full 3D motion capture to achieve emotional realism from its cast.
