14 DAY TRIAL // It hard to believe that StarCraft is going to turn 20 this month, but to celebrate this momentous achievement Blizzard is rewarding players with various skins and decals.
Even though there’s no official ranking for long-lived titles that are still being played today, we have to believe that Starcraft would be most likely on top. How many games still gather tens of thousands of players every day, 20 years after the official launch?
Blizzard itself must have been surprised by the success of their RTS. It’s not like they were building the game and thinking that they have to get it right because Starcraft is going to be around for another 20 years.
Starcraft items coming to all Blizzard games
To celebrate the 20-year anniversary of Starcraft, Blizzard is going to offer users all sorts of cool trinkets, such as UI skin, pets, and all sorts of items, all depending on the game for which they are redeemed.
Since the anniversary celebration will last for an entire month, there will be plenty of time to redeem the things you want. Users just have to log into their favorite game, through the Blizzard app of course, after March 6 and until April third, to receive various items.
“This month, your favorite Blizzard games are getting in on the StarCraft 20th Anniversary action, with epic rewards including a Sarah Kerrigan Overwatch skin, a Battlecruiser Diablo III pet, and more!” says Blizzard.
For Diablo III there is a fearsome Battlecruiser-themed Pet, Overwatch is getting the Sarah Kerrigan Ghost skin for Widowmaker, and even World of Warcraft is getting the “Salute to StarCraft” Feat of Strength.
Heroes of the Storm and Hearthstone haven’t been forgotten, and players will receive a 20th Anniversary Portrait for Protoss, Terran and Zerg, and three Kobolds & Catacombs packs, respectively.
