BioWare has just announced a brand new expansion for Star Wars: The Old Republic, which marks the MMORPG's 10th-year anniversary: Legacy of the Sith. The new expansion promises to offer players an exciting new storyline, more endgame missions, character and combat system upgrades, and much more.

As the war between the Galactic Republic and the Sith Empire spreads to new worlds, Legacy of the Sith sends players on a military campaign to secure a vital planet for their faction as they uncover the ultimate plan of the renegade Sith, Darth Malgus.

But that's not all! The expansion also features enhancements to player experience with the new feature, Combat Styles, that expand player options and an array of quality of life upgrades. With Combat Styles, players will be able to separate their Class Story from gameplay style for an even greater customization experience.

The addition of the new feature will free up Advanced Class options as characters can choose any Advanced Class within the Tech or Force playstyle. Players can now choose to play as a Trooper wielding a Sniper Rifle, or a Sith Inquisitor with a lightsaber in each hand, or even secretly use Dark Side powers while posing as a member of the Jedi Order.

Legacy of the Sith will take players on an adventure to the far reaches of the galaxy including the aquatic planet of Manaan in pursuit of Darth Malgus. The major update will increase the maximum number of levels players can achieve by 5 to level 80. Also, the toughest challenges yet Star Wars: The Old Republic will also be introduced with new collaborative missions including a Flashpoint set in a mountaintop tomb on the remote planet Elom, as well as an Operation in the remains of a deep space research station.

More importantly, existing, returning and new players can look forward to improvements in creating their next Star Wars character through a refactored character creation system. In addition, updates to itemization and loadout experiences as well as streamlined class design further enhances the Star Wars: The Old Republic experience for new, returning, and existing players.

According to BioWare, Legacy of the Sith is just the start of the game's 10th-year celebration, so players can expect more content throughout next year, including regular story updates, Master Mode R-4 Anomaly, further UI updates, a PvP System revamp, more Galactic Seasons, a new Flashpoint, new locations, tech modernization, visual improvements, and a lot more.
