It looks like its only developer has backed down

The famous Star Wars open world RPG that popped up on Kickstarter is no more, but not because of Disney.

A young man from the United States launched a Kickstarter campaign trying to raise money for a complex RPG game in the Star Wars universe. Leaving aside the legal problems that would immediately result after a successful campaign, the developer / designer/ dreamer, didn’t even have a clear plan.

Even if most of the community laughed at his project, there were quite a few people that actually contributed to the project, even if the developer didn’t even provide a single shred of artwork. He just had an idea of making something as big as Skyrim and Witcher 3, maybe even bigger.

Star Wars open world RPG is no more

You might think that the Disney lawyers were quick to send him a warning, but apparently that didn’t happen. He even emailed them, but they probably didn’t take him seriously.

This is part of his goodbye message and it’s simply better than anything you have read today. It’s difficult to know if he’s being serious or just a really good troll. Nonetheless, it’s worth a read.

“I am taking this kick starter down myself. Disney has not contacted me to tell me to shut it down for those of you who think you own Disney. I am taking this kick starter down, because I very much respect Disney, and I do not want this to get to big. I love all their pirates of the Caribbean movies. I always wanted to be captain jack, but I think Mr. Depp is to good to be replaced.”

It goes on, but there is no need to go beyond “Mr. Depp is to good to be replaced.” He simply dreams big.

I think that this is the last time when we’ll be hearing about Devin Tripp from Texas.
