Gamers will also get four new game modes and more

Star Wars Battlefront is close to its launch date, and the teams at developer DICE and publisher Electronic Arts are already thinking about the long-term future of the multiplayer-focused shooter, revealing that they have big plans to introduce new content as part of a coming Season Pass.

On the official site, the companies state that they will deliver four major downloadable content packs to make sure that fans remain engaged with the experience, expanding upon all the core features.

Gamers who get the Season Pass will have early two-week access to every DLC launched for Star Wars Battlefront, and they will also be able to use an exclusive Shoot First emote when they perform a particularly solid feat on the battlefield.

The four content drops will include four new Heroes and Villains (although DICE is not yet ready to talk about their identities), and more than 20 new pieces of technology for gamers to use, featuring vehicles, Star Cards and weapons.

For each of the DLC deliveries, the studio plans to also include four new maps, presumably one set on each of the planets included in Star Wars Battlefront, as well as a unique game mode.

Those interested can now place a pre-order for the Season Pass on the PC, the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4 to make sure they can access all it has to offer.

The big problem with the major content drops planned for Star Wars Battlefront by DICE and Electronic Arts is that they will cost 49.99 dollars or Euro, which is almost as much as the core game.

Battle of Jakku will be free for all players

The good news is that all those who plan to get Star Wars Battlefront on November 17 will be able to get access to a free piece of new content, the Battle of Jakku, which will arrive on December 1 for those who place pre-orders and one week later for the rest of the community.

It will allow gamers to explore the engagement that made the planet look like it does in the coming Star Wars: The Force Awakens but will not have a clear connection to the story of the movie.

Presumably, the first paid DLC for Star Wars Battlefront will arrive at some point in early 2016, but neither DICE nor Electronic Arts has offered any clear date.

The shooter will focus on the first trilogy of movies created by George Lucas, and it is designed to allow players to become part of the major engagements between the Empire and the Rebels.

The biggest draw is the system that gives gamers a chance to become some of the most powerful characters in the Star Wars universe, ranging from Luke Skywalker and Han Solo to Darth Vader and Emperor Palpatine.

DICE says that it wants the game to be accessible enough to draw in those who are at the moment just fans of the movies while also introducing enough depth to make sure that long-time fans of the Battlefield franchise are interested.
