Video game developer DICE and publisher Electronic Arts are announcing that they are delivering a new patch for Star Wars Battlefront, which is going live on the PlayStation 4, the Xbox One and the PC with a range of tweaks and fixes that will improve the shooter for all those who are currently playing it.

The new update, according to Reddit, is also designed to make sure that gamers can easily download and activate the coming free Battle of Jakku downloadable content, which is here today for those who placed a pre-order for the title and one week later for all other members of the community.

A full list of the changes made for Star Wars Battlefront can be seen by clicking on the button at the end of this article.

There are some unnamed improvements to stability and tweaks to the online traffic performance, and DICE is also promising better general gameplay for all the game modes as well as some upgrades to the physics and the way vehicles behave.

Some fans will be unhappy with the fact that the studio is not offering a more detailed list of the changes made to Star Wars Battlefront so that they can have a better idea about how to prepare their characters and which modes are the best to explore.

The update on all platforms is a little smaller than 300 MB and those playing will be prompted to download it as quickly as possible.

DICE has said that it wants to offer updates for Star Wars Battlefront regularly to make sure that the gamers stay connected to the experience.

Battle of Jakku is just the first free DLC coming to the shooter

The development team at DICE and publisher Electronic Arts are pushing fans to get the Season Pass package, which is priced at 59.99 dollars or Euro and allows access to four major downloadable content packs in 2016.

The companies are saying that they are planning to introduce four new heroes and villains, all of them based on the original trilogy of movies.

Four innovative game modes are also part of the package, and all the four core planets will be fleshed out with four new battle spaces each.

DICE has also made it clear that as it offers paid content for Star Wars Battlefront, it will also add a few free maps although no details on them have been offered, and there are even more Star Cards coming to introduce variety to the experience.

Statements from Electronic Arts are also pointing to sequels that will focus on the second movie trilogy and the coming Star Wars: The Force Awakens movie.

Gamers who get Battle of Jakku will be able to play a new Turning Point mode on the big Graveyard of Giants map, which will show how the planet got its unique features after a Super Star Destroyer crashed into it.

Moreover, a second smaller map is included to encourage gamers to play the modes of Star Wars Battlefront that feature a lower number of characters in combat at the same time.
