Star Wars Battlefront developer DICE and publisher Electronic Arts have just shared some fresh details about their upcoming sci-fi shooter, confirming just how vehicle spawns work in the Walker Assault mode and how, while Y-Wing fighters can be summoned, they can't be piloted by players.

Star Wars Battlefront is one of the most anticipated games of this upcoming fall season. Millions of Star Wars fans as well as plenty of veterans from the old Battlefront titles are looking forward to the new shooter from DICE.

After having shared plenty of details at E3 2015 and having hosted a closed alpha test phase on the PC, DICE is now sharing a few more details about some of the mechanics from Battlefront and how players can interact with them.

Vehicles spawn through random power-ups

First up, in the Walker Assault mode, players will be able to spawn vehicles only through random power-ups found throughout the map. Once they're activated, players will be thrown into a vehicle. However, the system has a time limit so that things stay as balanced as possible, according to DICE Community Manager Mathew Everett.

"In Walker Assault, vehicles are tied to the power up system. When you find a vehicle power up on the map, you will need to activate it, which immediately spawns you inside the vehicle. Vehicle power ups specifically must be used within a certain amount of time. This is a design decision to allow more equal distribution of the vehicle power ups amongst all players," he explains on the official website.

Y-wing fighters can't be piloted

Unfortunately, while players can summon quite a few different vehicles, the Y-wing fighters aren't going to be available for piloting. It seems that DICE is keeping them as support vehicles that can be called into battle within certain game modes.

As such, you won't be able to control them directly when Battlefront launches officially in November across PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
