Star Wars Battlefront is getting ready to deliver more content for gamers in the coming months, with the highlight being a new full downloadable content package that will feature Lando Calrissian and a range of extra maps, which will arrive in June under the name Bespin.

But the development team at DICE is not only looking to offer paid DLC for its shooter and is aiming to introduce a range of new in-game events that will offer experience, credits, and items to those gamers who take part.

More Hutt Contracts are also being added to Star Wars Battlefront and will introduce opportunities to unlock the Bacta Bomb, the Ion Neutralizer and the Berserker train, with a major special event planned for May 4 and a surprise that will target those gamers who want to enjoy the video game offline.

The Bespin DLC will introduce four new maps that will cover popular modes and will be set around Cloud City.

DICE explains, "You’ll see AT-ATs in Cloud City, take to the skies in Fighter Squadron, and even spend time in a carbonite chamber. Of course, we’re also adding more blasters and Star Cards, a new game mode, and two new iconic characters we’re excited about – Lando Calrissian and the cold-blooded bounty hunter, Dengar."

Star Wars Battlefront is not yet revealing the name of its fourth DLC pack

Bespin is the second new content drop and DICE plans to allow players to explore the Death Star in the fall, with the final downloadable content pack coming to the shooter at some point during the winter.

The developers are saying that their plan is to introduce eight new heroes to the game to make sure that gamers have a wide variety of battlefield options and get to work with the cool characters that the universe has to offer.

Electronic Arts has made it clear that it has plans to introduce more Battlefront video games based on the Star Wars series and that it might explore the prequel trilogy at some point but will not yet touch the new The Force Awakens.

It's unclear whether the publisher has any plans to create a tie-in for the coming Rogue One movie, which arrives in the fall of this year.

BioWare is also working on a Star Wars video game project, although no details have been revealed yet, and another experience is created by a team led by Amy Hennig, rumored to incorporate elements from Star Wars 1313.
