Star Citizen, the multiplayer space trading and combat simulation game from Cloud Imperium games, is trying to recruit more fans to its part of the galaxy. The developers behind the now $300 million project have just announced that players who want to try out Star Citizen can do it for free for the next 10 days.

After the recent release of the “Assault on Stanton” Dynamic Event, the fine folks at Cloud Imperium have decided to launch a new “February Free Fly” event, which grants free access to download and play Star Citizen, plus free access to a wide array of ships for the duration of the event.

In case you're wondering, you'll be able to take the following ships for a spin throughout your adventures: Consolidated Outlands Mustang Alpha, RSI Aurora MR, MISC Prospector, MISC Freelancer, Anvil Arrow, and Drake Dragonfly.

But wait, there's more! Cloud Game Imperium revealed that new players can also take advantage of a 10% discount across a large number of Starter Packs on the Pledge Store during the Free Fly event.

It's important to mention that the Star Citizen Free Fly event is scheduled to begin on February 15 at approximately 10:00 am (Pacific Standard Time) and will run through February 25. Also, Star Citizen discounted Starter Pack sales are scheduled to begin on February 15 and will run through February 26.

Last but not least, in order to take full advantage of the Star Citizen Free Fly Event, players who plan to crew up with friends are encouraged to share their referral code for a bonus of 5,000 UEC.

Even if you don't plan to continue to play Star Citizen after the free trial, it's worth giving it a try. The game has been in development for several years now and we don't know when exactly it will be released, so we might as well check out its progress.
