After delaying the release of Life is Strange: Remastered Collection last month to “alleviate any additional pressure on the Life is Strange team,” Square Enix announced today the bundle will be available on February 1, 2022.

Life is Strange: Remastered Collection includes visually improved versions of Life is Strange and Life is Strange: Before the Storm. Apart from remastered visuals for characters and environments, the games will feature a new engine and upgraded lightning.

Square Enix confirmed that the improved version of Life is Strange will benefit from full motion-captured facial animations, and that the bundle will also include deluxe Before the Storm content, such as the Farewell episode.

Life is Strange: Remastered Collection was originally slated for a September 30 release, which coincides with the launch of Life is Strange: True Colors, the most recent installment in the franchise. The main reason was the fact that Life is Strange: True Colors Ultimate Edition was bundled together with Life is Strange: Remastered Collection.

Those who don’t own Life is Strange: True Colors Ultimate Edition will be able to get Life is Strange: Remastered Collection for $40/£33. The game is coming to PC (via Steam), PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and Google Stadia. PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S owners will be able to play the game via backward compatibility.

On a side note, Square Enix announced that instead of Life is Strange: Remastered Collection, which was delayed until early next year, it will release a Life is Strange: True Colors DLC called Wavelenghts.

The upcoming DLC will be available for free to those who bought Life is Strange: True Colors Deluxe and Ultimate Edition. Wavelenghts focuses on returning character Steph Gingrich, as she becomes Haven Springs’ new KRCT radio host. The DLC takes place over four seasons and explores Steph’s past.
