Everyone has heard of Windows 10’s privacy issue, so there are so many apps out there that promise to help you block data collection that it’s almost impossible to choose the best one, especially because they all claim to disable everything supposed to track you in the new OS.

Spybot Anti-Beacon is one of the latest additions to the app arsenal that can be used against Microsoft’s data collection feature army and comes with a package that can appeal to both beginners and more experienced users.

As you can see in the screenshot included in this article, the application comes with a rather simple interface, and while this is quite a good thing for the majority of users out there, it’s a double-edged sword.

Sure, it helps you protect your privacy with just a click, but it gives less control to experienced users who want to select what, when, and how to block every single data tracking service in Windows 10, so this is one of the things that could be improved in a future update.

Data collection blocking features

You can block telemetry hosts, services, and group policies, disable Wi-Fi sense, P2P Windows updates outside local network, and application impact telemetry group policy. What’s more, you can block apps from using your advertising ID.

Users are allowed to simply disable all of these by clicking the “Immunize” button in the main screen, while the optional tab brings some extra settings, such as control over OneDrive, Cortana, and web search.

As you can easily figure out if you’re a tech-savvy user, this isn’t as powerful as other apps with the same purpose, such as O&O ShutUp10, which can also disable data collection in Windows 10, but further improvements can be added at a later time with more updates.

It’s still worth a try if you want something simple that does its job, so go download Spybot Anti-Beacon right now to see what it can do for your privacy.
