14 DAY TRIAL // The iconic SpongeBob franchise is getting another video game in about two months from now. Publisher THQ Nordic has just announced that SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom – Rehydratated will be out for PC and consoles on June 23.
Players can already pre-order the game for Xbox One and PC, with the Nintendo Switch pre-orders kicking off on April 21. Also, for collectors, the boxed game will be available for pre-order at selected retailers on all platforms on April 21.
Apart from the regular version, SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom – Rehydratated will feature two additional special editions. If you're a fan of the series, you'll be able to choose between the Shiny Edition and the much more expensive F.U.N. Edition.
The Shiny Edition is now available for pre-order for $150 (€150 / £140) and includes the following items: an 8-inch (20 cm) SpongeBob figurine with Golden Spatula and flexible tongue, wallstickers, 6 lithographs, SpongeBob SquarePants tennis socks, as well as the base game.
On the other hand, the F.U.N. Edition is priced at $300 (€300 / £260) and contains the following items: an 8-inch (20 cm) SpongeBob figurine with Golden Spatula and flexible tongue, a 7-inch (18 cm) figurine of Patrick, an 8-inch (20 cm) figurine of Sandy, wallstickers, a set of Tiki Keyrings, 6 lithographs, SpongeBob SquarePants tennis socks, and the base game.
Both versions are now available for pre-order on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC via Amazon. Nintendo Switch pre-orders will open tomorrow for all three versions of SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom – Rehydratated.
If you're just interested in the standard version, you'll be able to pre-order it on Steam for just $27 (€27), which includes a 10 percent discount. Also, all players who pre-order the game will receive the fully remastered original soundtrack of SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom – Rehydratated for free.
