Another day, another affordable Android smartphone debuts in India. The XLife 431q Lite is one of the newest handsets introduced by Indian OEM Spice Mobility.

According to fonearena, Spice XLife 431q Lite is now available for purchase in India for just Rs 3,850 outright, which is about $60 or €55. Customers can pick this one up in either Blue or Grey color options.

Judging by the phone's price, we can guess that it packs the lowest specs possible. The good news is all these low specs are wrapped up in a nice-looking package.

The XLife 431q Lite looks pretty decent for such a cheap smartphone, even though it's completely made of plastic.

Moving on to actual specs, Spice's new affordable smartphone ships with Android 4.4 KitKat operating system right out of the box, and is likely to remain on this version of the platform.

When it comes to hardware, the XLife 431q Lite is equipped with a 1.2GHz quad-core processor, probably provided by MediaTek, which is complemented by only 512MB of RAM and 4GB of internal memory.

Dual-SIM and 3G connectivity are included too

Luckily, the smartphone packs microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB). On the back, Spice XLife 431q Lite features a 3.2-megapixel camera with LED flash and video recording, while in the front there's a secondary 1.3-megapixel camera for video calls.

It's also worth mentioning the XLife 431q Lite sports a small 4-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports 800 x 480 pixels resolution, as well as a decent 1,750 mAh battery inside.

“After extensive market research, we observed a product gap and significant market opportunity in the sub Rs 5,000 segment of smartphones offering both technology and design.

“A large number of Indian consumers still use feature phones, hence there is huge upgrade potential towards smartphones and we are targeting first time users in Tier II and III cities.

“We are delighted to launch our new X Life series of smartphones in Rajasthan, which is one of the largest feature phone markets in India”, saud Amandeep Singh, CEO, Spice Mobiles.
