Mortal Kombat 11 is getting another playable character on March 24, Spawn. The legendary anti-hero will be available on March 17 to those who bought the Kombat Pack, while everyone else will get it a week later.

This would be the sixth and last DLC character announced for Mortal Kombat 11, joining Shang Tsung, Sindel, The Joker, Terminator T-800, and Nightwolf. Along with Spawn, the next update to the game will also include new skins for Nightwolf, Jacqui Briggs, and Erron Black.

For aficionados, Spawn will be voiced once again by Keith David, the same actor who voiced the character in “Todd McFarlane's Spawn” animated series.

A gameplay trailer showing some of Spawn's abilities and weapons has been released along with the announcement and judging by what we're seeing, he's going to have access to a small arsenal. Axe, sword, and club are Spawn's main threats, besides his trademark weapons – his iconic cape and chains.

From the outset, Spawn’s many passionate fans here at NetherRealm were obsessed with giving this devil his due. We knew that to portray Spawn properly, we first needed to nail the presentation of his trademark weapons — his iconic cape and chains. To perfect these items, our studio leads formed a cross-discipline strike team. They met regularly for over six months to develop the tools necessary for our designers and artists to fully explore their imaginations,” said Dominic Cianciolo, Cinematic Director, NetherRealm Studios.

Both appear in Spawn's Fatality, “Rest in Pieces,” as the beaten opponent is grabbed by the cape, while the chains tear him or her apart. Not to mention that Spawn's cape is used as both offensive and defensive weapon, as well as a way to help Spawn take flight.

The new character DLC will be released on all platforms at the same time, including PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch.
