Developed by Black Lab Games and published by Slitherine, Battlestar Galactica Deadlock is a space strategy game set in the Battlestar Galactica universe, during the First Cylon War. The game was released for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, and now is close to making its debut on the Nintendo Switch.

Slitherine has just announced that Battlestar Galactica Deadlock will be coming to Nintendo Switch on October 8. New players, fans of the Battlestar Galactica universe, will find some of the ships and technology in the game quite familiar.

Story-wise, Deadlock takes players into the heart of the First Cylon War, to fight epic 3D battles that will test their tactical prowess. It's been four years since the war started and a steep price in human lives have not been enough to unlock a deadly stalemate. Although the Colonials have countered all the Cylon’s offensives so far, no decisive victory was achieved.

Unfortunately, the deadlock is suddenly broken by a surprise attack from the Cylons and the brutal annihilation of the Colonial Fleet High Command on Picon. The fate of mankind is now resting on the shoulders of Rear-Admiral Lucinda Cain.

In Deadlock, you'll take control of the Colonial Fleet from the bridge of the mobile shipyard, Daidalos, and free the Twelve Colonies from the Cylon threat. The game lets you build fleets with which to protect the Quorum alliance, and dig deeper into the conspiracies of the conflict.

As far as combat goes, the game plays out in tactical battles through an innovative WEGO system: the two sides issue orders simultaneously, and then the turn is executed for both. Simply put, you'll give commands to your fleet of capital ships and then watch all hell break loose.

Battlestar Galactica Deadlock does feature a multiplayer mode as well, where players fight each other in 1v1 fleet battles. You'll most likely need a Nintendo Switch Online subscription to be able to play it.
