After a very successful open beta, Mortal Shell is coming out earlier than we expected. Developer Cold Symmetry and publisher Playstack have just confirmed that Mortal Shell is coming out on August 18.

Although we've got some serious triple-A vibes after playing the beta, Mortal Shell is priced much lower than a high-budget title. The game can be purchased for just $30 / €30 / £25 on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. If PC is your platform of choice, you might want to know that Mortal Shell is an Epic Games Store exclusive, so you won't be able to buy it on Steam until later in 2021.

Launching Mortal Shell worldwide is a dream come true. Our commitment to our fans is to create a soulslike game that is authentic, uncompromising and unrelenting. We were humbled by the popularity of the beta and we closely studied the feedback we received to create something that we are incredibly proud of,” said the fine folks at Cold Symmetry in a joint statement.

Mortal Shell is an action RPG that draws inspiration from the Dark Souls series. Although it does come with a couple of neat mechanics that differentiate it from the Souls series, Mortal Shell does give you the same bleak vibe.

Along with the game’s release date, developer Cold Symmetry released a brand-new trailer that for the first time showcases Mortal Shell’s ranged weapon, the Ballistazooka. This powerful weapon can launch heavy iron bolts at devastating speed, and it's strong enough to impale enemies and pin them onto nearby structures.

On to of that, the trailer embedded above offers players a new glimpse at more of the game’s fearsome adversaries, its stunning landscapes, and the mysterious fourth Shell, Solomon. If you liked what you played in the beta, this is a no-brainer; get it now.
