The smartphone is now listed on the company's website

Although Verizon has announced it won't be carrying the Xperia Z4v anymore, the US-based carrier has also confirmed that it will continue to support Sony, and other Xperia smartphones might be launched through its official retail channels.

That should have been very disappointing for Sony fans, as the Big Red announced the Xperia Z4v several months ago. However, with the launch of the new Xperia Z5 family of smartphones, the Xperia Z4v has become redundant for Verizon and its customers.

Obviously, we are waiting for Verizon to launch any of the new Xperia handsets announced by Sony in early September at IFA 2015 trade fair.

Until then, it looks like Sony's official website in the US has already listed the Xperia Z3+, which is not an old device, but it's not among the new ones launched by the Japanese company either.

It might be launched ahead of Xperia Z5 series

Sony Xperia Z3+ is listed as “coming soon” on the company's official website, XperiaBlog points out. This means that we don't know for sure when exactly the smartphone will be available for purchase and for how much.

Even though many Sony fans are waiting for the Japanese company to launch any of the new Xperia Z5 devices in the United States, the Xperia Z3+ is more than decent when it comes to specs.

The smartphone ships with Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system right out of the box and sports a 5.2-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen display that supports full HD (1080p) resolution.

Hardware-wise, the Xperia Z3+ is equipped with a 64-bit 2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor, an Adreno 430 graphics processing unit, and 3GB of RAM.

In addition, the handset packs 32GB of internal memory, which can be further expanded up to 128GB via microSD card slot.

Another strong point of the Xperia Z3+ is the 20.7-megapixel rear-facing camera that features autofocus, LED flash, and 4K video recording, as well as the secondary 5.1-megapixel camera on the front for video calls and selfies.

Sony Xperia Z3+ is powered by a non-removable 2,930 mAh battery, which should provide up to 580 hours of standby time or up to 12 hours of talk time.
