14 DAY TRIAL // Sony announced the new Xperia XZ Premium during this year’s edition of the Mobile World Congress and the phone stands out with a number of premium features and a sleek design. To keep consumers interested in the new smartphone, Sony plans to release yet another color option.
When it was released earlier this year, the Xperia XZ Premium was offered in two color options, Luminous Chrome and Deepsea Black. In April, the smartphone received another color option, Bronze Pink.
Now it seems that Sony is planning to introduce a red color option for the Xperia XZ Premium, as this color has proven quite popular among consumers. Earlier this year, Apple launched Red iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, to add some flavor to its latest flagships.
Images of the red Xperia XZ Premium surfaced over at XperiaBlog and show the phone’s front and back panel. The whole device is red, including the back panel and front bezels, leaving only the camera module and LED flash in their natural colors.
Red Xperia XZ Premium to launch in Japan first
The pictures reveal that the red color option will arrive in Japan first, and afterward it’s expected to come to other countries as well. Aside from this, the variant doesn’t bring any other changes to the Xperia XZ Premium, meaning that the model will sport a 5.5-inch display with 3840 x 2160 pixel resolution and 4GB of RAM. Battery capacity is 3,230mAh and the smartphone runs the latest Snapdragon 835 platform with Adreno 540 GPU.
The rear camera is possibly the most exciting feature on the Xperia XZ Premium, as it comes with a 19MP sensor with f/2.0 aperture and multiple optimizations, including the Motion Eye with stacked Exmos RS sensor for 5 times faster image scanning.
In addition, it comes with a 13MP wide-angle front sensor and runs Android 7.1 Nougat out of the box. The Xperia XZ Premium is one of the smartphones that Sony intends to place great focus on, after the company announced that it would discontinue the Premium Standard line of phones, which includes the Xperia X Compact.
