Great news for Sony fans not looking for a flagship, as one of the company's new mid-range Android smartphones, the Xperia XA1, will make its debut on April 10.

Although it was initially slated for a late April release, the Xperia XA1 is already available for pre-order in the UK for £230 ($280) outright. Major retailer Clover has recently confirmed the smartphone will begin shipping on April 10.

As per Clove's blog post, the Xperia XA1 can be pre-ordered in either of the four color options: Gold, White, Black, and Pink. Customers can also wait for April 10 to purchase the Xperia XA1 since pre-ordering won't get them any advantages.

Obviously, Clove is selling the unlocked version of the Xperia XA1, but everyone who buys it will get 24-month warranty. The retail package contains the phone, a 3-pin UK Sony main charger and an USB data cable.

The Xperia XA1 will ship with Android 7.0 Nougat operating system right out of the box, no surprise there. Since it's a mid-range device, Sony has decided to cut costs and included a 5-inch display that supports HD (720p) resolution.

On the inside, Sony opted for a 2.3GHz octa-core MediaTek Helio P20 processor, paired with 3GB RAM and 32GB of internal memory (expandable via microSD card).

Furthermore, the Xperia XA1 boasts an impressive 23-megapixel camera on the back, which features Sony Exmor RS sensor, f/2.0 aperture, and LED flash. A secondary 8-megapixel camera is available on the front side, which allows for great selfies and smooth video call sessions.

Connectivity-wise, Sony's mid-range smartphone has been confirmed to pack USB Type-C port, Bluetooth 4.2 and 4G LTE support, as well as GPS. There's no fingerprint sensor on the Xperia XA1, sadly.

It's also worth mentioning the smartphone is powered by a 2,300 mAh battery, which features fast charging technology from MediaTek (PumpExpress 2.0).
