A mid-range smartphone that might be unveiled later today

Sony Mobile is one of the many companies that will announce new smartphones at Mobile World Congress 2016 next week. The Japanese handset maker has already confirmed a press conference on February 22 but did not unveil any details regarding the phones that will be presented there.

However, a picture of an unannounced Xperia handset has just emerged online, which suggests that Sony Mobile still plans to showcase a few new products at the trade fair.

Although we don't expect Sony Mobile to come forward with its flagship smartphone, there's a high chance that a few entry-level and mid-range devices might be announced tomorrow.

The picture of the so-called Xperia PP10 has been published online by @evleaks, but no details on the phone's specs came along.

We do know that while the smartphone has been tipped as Xperia PP10, it might come on the market under a different moniker.

Large bezels, possibly metal-made back cover

Since we don't have any details on the Xperia PP10's specs, we can only speculate, and a quick look at the phone suggests that this is definitely not a high-end device.

Also, it looks like Sony has dropped the large bezels below and above the display. The phone features a candybar form factor and comes with a rear-facing camera located in the upper left corner.

An LED flash is positioned right below the main camera. The battery cover looks like it's made of brushed aluminum, but we can't be certain just from the picture.

There's also a secondary camera in the front and dual stereo speakers. The Xperia PP10, or whatever its name, features a dedicated camera button on the right side.

Unfortunately, Sony put all external buttons on the right edge of the phone, so you will also find here the volume key and the power on/off button.

Since we're not presented with a view of the top and bottom sides of the phone, we can't say what other ports the Xperia PP10 includes, but we can safely assume that it will come with 3.5mm audio jack and, perhaps, a microUSB 2.0 port.
