Unveiled early last month, Sony Xperia M5 is about to make its debut in India. The smartphone is not available for purchase, but it has already been priced in China at $400 (€360) outright.

According to a teaser image published by Sony Mobile India, the Xperia M5 should be made available in the country on September 9.

It's worth mentioning that Sony will most likely launch the dual-SIM version of the Xperia M5 in India, not the single-SIM model which will be available in Europe and possibly North America.

The Xperia M5 is the first Sony smartphone to be equipped with a powerful 64-bit 2GHz octa-core MediaTek MT679 Helio X10 processor, which is complemented by a PowerVR G6200 graphics processing unit and no less than 3GB of RAM.

Also, the smartphone packs 16GH of storage inside, which can be further expanded up to 200GB via microSD card slot.

It might be available in three color options: Blac, White, and Gold

Sony's mid-end smartphone is IP68 certified, which makes it dust-proof and water resistant (over 1.5 meter and 30 minutes).

The Xperia M5 sports a decent 5-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen display that supports full HD (1080p) resolution and features scratch-resistant glass.

Another strong point of the phone would be the 21.5-megapixel photo snapper on the back, which features autofocus, LED flash and 4K video recording, as well as the no-less-impressive 13-megapixel camera in the front that can capture full HD (1080p) video.

Sony Xperia M5 is powered by a non-removable 2,600 mAh battery, which should provide up to 660 hours of standby time or up to 12 hours of talk time.

Obviously, the Xperia M5 will come preloaded with Android 5.0 Lollipop operating system right out of the box.

In the connectivity front, the smartphone offers multiple options, including 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.1, microUSB 2.0, GPS with AGPS support and NFC (Near Field Communication).
