Sony's Xperia X line is the latest to come from Sony Mobile, being a continuation of the Xperia Z series but with some new features. After the manufacturer launched the Xperia X, Xperia XA, Xperia XA Ultra, and the Xperia X Performance, word has got out that the company will be releasing a new handset during the IFA 2016.

The new report comes from Yibada and states that Sony will be unveiling a new smartphone during the IFA 2016 in September. There aren't many more details on the product, but surely more information will surface until the unveiling in the first week of September.

The report indicates that the new device is the Sony F8331, which was recently spotted on GFXBench. It doesn't have an official name yet, but it is mentioned that Sony could, in fact, release more than one smartphone during the IFA 2016. The second would thus have the model number Sony F8332. Considering the similarity in model numbers, the two handsets could be part of the same line, and it would make sense for Sony to release them together.

Sony F8331 could come with a 21MP rear camera

The Xperia X range of smartphone was announced during MWC earlier this year, and it would be fitting for Sony to release another product during a major event like IFA 2016, considering that many devices will be unveiled then.

The report doesn't bring any additional information on the two phones, but the GFXBench listing of Sony F8331 did reveal some specs for the upcoming device. The smartphone could have a 5.1-inch 1080p display, coupled with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. In addition, it could come with Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor, a rear camera of 21MP, and a 12MP unit on the front. Also worth knowing is that the smartphone is expected to run Android Marshmallow 6.0.1. As IFA 2016 approaches, more information on the two devices is bound to surface.
