Just wait until drivers are ready, the company says

Windows 10 is now available for the majority of users, but Microsoft is still working to release it to all those eligible for the free upgrade, but the problem is that it takes a little bit more time to address all compatibility issues that might arise after deploying the new OS.

Sony VAIO owners, for instance, are among those unlucky users who should stay away from Windows 10, as the upgrade could cause a number of issues on their computers.

This warning comes straight from Sony, who says that VAIO customers should wait until more information on the upgrade, as well as new drivers, become available, so for the moment, the upgrade to Windows 10 should be delayed.

“To ensure your VAIO PC works with Windows 10, it is strongly recommended that you wait to upgrade your PC until the drivers are ready. Although Microsoft is offering the Windows 10 upgrade, it is strongly recommended that you wait to install it until the drivers & installation instructions are available for your VAIO PC,” Sony said in a statement.

Drivers coming soon

Sony has also provided more information on the date when new drivers will become available, revealing that those who are on Windows 7 Service Pack 1 right now should get upgrade information for Windows 10 sometime this month.

On the other hand, devices running Windows 8 or Windows 8.1 will only get upgrade instructions, drivers, and applications in October and November, respectively.

So, in other words, if you own a VAIO, you'd better stay away from Windows 10 because the lack of support for the new operating system could cause some issues on your computer.

Microsoft too is working to address compatibility issues, so hopefully, the two companies can find a way to make Windows 10 running on all devices as soon as possible so everyone can enjoy the new operating system and benefit from the free upgrade offer.
