Despite the device going on sale this week, that is

Samsung is projected to officially start shipping the Galaxy S22 Ultra to the first customers later this week, though some of the luckiest buyers out there have already received the device early.

However, not everybody is as lucky as these folks, as some people will have to wait much longer to get their hands on Samsung’s latest and greatest.

For example, if you order a new Galaxy S22 Ultra right now, the waiting times have already increased substantially, so you won’t receive the device earlier than March.

But the March shipping date is actually good news. Especially when compared to the estimate that buyers of the T-Mobile 512GB white Galaxy S22 Ultra are provided with.

As reported by PCMag, these customers are being told the device would be shipped with a three-month delay, which means the device will arrive at their doors at some point in mid-March.

Samsung working on cutting waiting times

This is shocking, to say the least, and it’ll certainly be interesting how many people stick with their order and don’t eventually cancel it to purchase another version (or maybe another smartphone).

Samsung says it’s seeing impressive demand for the device, but for the time being, the company still can’t tell how fast these increasing waiting times can be resolved.

At first glance, Samsung sells more Galaxy S22 Ultra units than it can make, but at the same time, it could also be a sign the company hasn’t necessarily built a massive inventory ahead of the launch.

“We're grateful for the excitement and response to our new Galaxy S22 series. Interest in Galaxy S22 series is at an all-time high with the pre-order volume exceeding our expectations. We’re committed to getting these devices to our customers as early as possible. However, some customers may experience delays depending on market, model and color. We greatly appreciate the patience and understanding,” Samsung explained.

The Galaxy S22 and the Galaxy S22+ are projected to start shipping next month.
