The movie trailer for "Snowden" has dropped today and offers the first shots of Oliver Stone's film about the famous NSA leaker Edward Snowden.

The movie, set for release on September 16 this fall, stars Joseph Gordon-Levitt as Edward Snowden, Shailene Woodley as Lindsay Mills (Snowden's girlfriend), Zachary Quinto as Glenn Greenwald, as well as Nicolas Cage, Melissa Leo, Rhys Ifans, Tom Wilkinson, and Timothy Olyphant in other secondary roles.

The film's action takes place before and during Snowden's time with the NSA and chronicles all his life's events that led him to steal and then leak details about the NSA's massive surveillance campaign in the US, along with many of its allies and their citizens.

Snowden himself tweeted out a link to the video on Twitter, giving it the thumbs up on his part. "For two minutes and thirty nine seconds, everybody at NSA just stopped working," Snowden wrote in a tweet.

The trailer contained a precious piece of information, never revealed until now, and that's the method Snowden used to get all the data out from NSA's headquarters.

In the video below, you can see Snowden copying the files on an SD card and then hiding it inside the piece of a Rubik's cube that he gives to a guard to solve while going through the security check.
