The last major update for Slack for Windows Phone dates back to about a month ago. Today developers announced that a new version of Slack beta was made available for download in Windows Store.

However, unlike the previous update that added several new features, the latest version of Slack comes with lots of improvements and bug fixes.

Developers have improved emoji support by adding reactions with a fancy emoji picker. Also, they have updated the emoji set and skin tone display support.

Furthermore, the official changelog mentions that the update brings slash commands with auto-complete, as well as improved support for integrations and group message.

Another new feature included in the new version of Slack beta is channel list sorting and grouping updates. Scrolling performance improvements are present, too.

Still, a few issues need to be addressed

These are all the new features and improvements included in the update, but several bug fixes are present in the package as well. For example, developers confirm they have fixed an issue where single channel guests had trouble loading messages.

Also, another issue where links in messages weren't preserving query string has been addressed in this update. Devs also corrected some message-rendering issues with overlapping text, as well as a problem that some users had when creating channels.

Last but not least, some minor UI enhancements and cleanups are part of this update. Keep in mind that the application still has some problems, such as the fact that messages can't be sent while disconnected.

However, developers are aware of these issues and plan on having better handling for queueing sent messages. For now, though, the send button will be disabled when a connection is not available.

You can now download Slack for Windows Phone for free via Windows Store. The application should be fully compatible with all devices running Windows Phone 8.1 and up.
