The beta version of Slack for Windows Phone is one step closer to its public release. The new update brings significant improvements that make it more stable and much faster.

Along with many under-the-hood enhancements, developers have also delivered a long list of bug fixes meant to eliminate most of the issues users have been affected by in the last versions.

According to developers, “the engine at the heart of the Windows Phone App is ready for its first public roar. Like most engines it might not look like much, but every nozzle has been buffered and every piston twinkled within an inch of its… fine we don’t know anything about engines. But the app has had performance enhancements, an overhaul and a lot of hard work.”

As mentioned earlier, the folks behind Slack seem to have accelerated Windows Phone development and patched up many known issues from previous builds.

For example, an issue which would cause users to get endless loop while loading has been addressed and the loading has been improved, so there should be no stuck anymore.

Also, a problem with some notifications that didn't lead to the message they were notifying users about has been fixed, so everything should work smoothly now.

The navigation has been tweaked, so the application now remembers where the users came from and where they want to go. Text predictions from comments on uploads should work as expected as well.

One known issue will be fixed in future updates

Developers also confirmed they have included multiple performance enhancements in an attempt to “cut down on the amount of time you should spend staring at infinitely spinning spinners.”

There's also a known issue that hasn't been fixed yet. Apparently, Windows 10 mobile most likely still has notifications issues where they sometimes don't trigger a change of channel.

You can now download Slack Beta for Windows Phone for free via Windows Store. The application should be fully compatible with all devices running Windows Phone 8.1 and up.
