“Back to the Future” fans already know by now that when Marty McFly, one of the movie's protagonists, travelled to the future in October 21, 2015, he was greeted by hovering skateboards and flying cars.

Some of the devices depicted in the movie aren't some SF technology anymore. The self-lacing shoes that were shown in Back to the Future have already been announced by Nike and we already have hovering skateboards for quite some time now.

Anyway, the folks over at Skype had decided to celebrate “Back to the Future” day with a few new Mojis for its messaging application.

Bring back the ‘80s slang with the latest version of Skype

According to Skype, three new thematic Mojis have been introduced, in addition to those already available, so users can express themselves on Skype with even more of their favorite clips from the movie.

“If you consider yourself a Back to the Future super fan, you’ve likely heard of the “We’re Going Back” events. For those not fortunate enough to be attending the events, the team at “We’re Going Back” is using Skype to bring the excitement of the event right to you!

“By adding the Skype IDWereGoingBack to your Skype contacts list, you’ll get access to event updates, exclusive content, video messages from panelists, clips and teasers from the events and film trivia. Stay tuned for additional surprises coming this weekend!” explains Skype in a blog post.

The new Mojis announced by Skype are now available for Android and iOS users, but also on Windows and Mac devices.

The Mojis are likely to install automatically on your device if you already have Skype. If not, you can now download Skype for Android for free via Google Play Store. It should be fully compatible with all devices powered by Android 4.0 and up.

For iOS users, the application can be downloaded for free via App Store. It should work smoothly on all devices running iOS 7.0 or later.
