Developed by Serbian studio Ebb Software since 2014, Scorn is a different breed of horror. Revealed for the first time last week during the Inside Xbox event, Scorn will be one of the many Xbox Series X exclusives that will be launched during Holiday 2020.

Scorn is a first-person horror adventure that impresses through its powerful visual style and dense atmosphere. Since it's an Xbox Series X exclusive, it will be released around the same time as Microsoft's console.

The distinctive art style is only half the story - the other half is having all the technical parts of the game running smoothly. That’s where our partnership with Microsoft and their next-generation Xbox Series X console comes in. Xbox Series X is an extremely capable piece of hardware that will enable us to run Scorn at 4k 60fps with all the graphical bells and whistles. Ease of development and raw processing power are the primary reasons we chose to go exclusively with Xbox Series X. Players on Series X will experience an uncompromising version of Scorn,” said Scorn Game Director Ljubomir Peklar.

The trailer revealed last week doesn't show any gameplay, so there's no telling what's this game about. However, developer Ebb Software was kind enough to offer us some details about what to expect from Scorn.

So, the game is supposed to feature a claustrophobic underworld populated with misshapen organic forms dripping with unnamed fluids, which we can already see in the trailer. Players will find themselves entirely alone, with only their senses and instincts to guide them through the non-linear nightmare of interconnected spaces.

More importantly, the environment is itself a character and will do its best to unsettle and unbalance the player. Also, each location in the game has its own puzzles, characters, and story to tell, all of which combine to create a cohesive world.

Throughout your journey, you'll discover new areas, skills, weapons, and items, as you attempt to comprehend the unfolding reality of Scorn. We can't wait to see some Scorn gameplay in the coming months, since the game feels kind of unique, though very unsettling.
