Author George R.R. Martin, he of the ‘Song of Ice and Fire” series of novels fame, which was turned by HBO into the hit series “Game of Thrones,” got a taste of his very own, bitter medicine last night, on SyFy’s “Sharknado 3: Oh Hell No!”

The first “Sharknado” film aired in 2013 and turned into such a viral sensation despite the ridiculous story and sub-par special effects that it immediately got a sequel and started a new trend in terms of TV movies.

Last night, SyFy aired the third: “Oh Hell No!” didn’t just bring back regulars Tara Reid and Ian Ziering but it also featured more celebrity cameos than the most recent “Expendables” film.

Everyone from Matt Lauer to Mark Cuban, David Hasselhoff, Bo Derek and George R.R. Martin, agreed to appear onscreen, if only for a few seconds before dying a bloody death. By shark, of course.

Martin got one too, as you can see from the GIF below, and it was packed with references from “Game of Thrones,” from the 3-headed shark on screen (kind of like the 3-headed dragon), to his beheading (like Ned Stark’s) and the bride sitting next to him in the theater (Red Wedding, anyone?).

Valar Morghulis, Mr. Martin.

And just in case you were wondering, SyFy has already announced a fourth film by ending the third in a cliffhanger and offering fans the chance to decide April’s fate.
