Square Enix announced today on Twitter the name and release date of the third installment of the Tomb Raider 2013 reboot with a short teaser and the date when it plans to reveal the game to the world.

If you've been waiting for a new Tomb Raider action-adventure game, the wait is almost over, as Square Enix took to Twitter to announce Shadow of the Tomb Raider, the third installation of new Tomb Raider reboot that the video games published started five years ago.

The first game in the series was Tomb Raider 2013, followed by Rise of the Tomb Raider two years later, in 2015. Now, three years from the second installment, the franchise continues with a new title, Shadow of the Tomb Raider, which Square Enix plans to release later this year.

Shadow of the Tomb Raider is coming September 14, 2018

Tomb Raider fans would want to mark two dates in their calendars, April 27, 2018, when Square Enix plans to reveal the Shadow of the Tomb Raider video game, and September 14, the official release date when you'll be able to play it on your PC, Xbox and PlayStation 4.

"Experience Lara Croft’s defining moment as she becomes the Tomb Raider. Shadow of the Tomb Raider will be revealed April 27th. Available on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC on September 14th, 2018," said Square Enix on Twitter.

Though it doesn't reflect the actual gameplay, you can watch below the first teaser trailer of the Shadow of the Tomb Raider video game, where fans of the franchise will once again be able to take the role of Lara Croft while engaging in new adventures to uncover hidden worlds and treasures.

The teaser trailer reveals the fact that the game will be available on Steam, Valve's digital distribution platform, but probably only for Microsoft Windows systems, as Linux and Mac gamers will have to wait a year or more for Feral Interactive to port the game to their platforms.
