As expected, PlayStation has just announced March's free PS Plus game: Shadow of the Colossus and Sonic Forces. Both games will be available to download from March 3 until April 6, so even if you don't have a PS Plus subscription yet, you still have more than a month to become one.

The remake of the action-adventure game launched in 2005, Shadow of the Colossus focuses on gameplay rather than story, although there's a little bit of the latter as well. Unlike traditional action-adventure games where you can interact with lots of NPCs or get to visit populated areas like towns, Shadow of the Colossus offers neither of these.

Instead, you'll be fighting colossi, huge monsters made of stone that can only be defeated by attacking certain parts of their bodies. Most of the time, these vulnerable parts are obvious, and almost all the time they are hard to access, which is why Shadow of the Colossus has been dubbed as a puzzle game by many.

Despite its rather wonky controls, Shadow of the Colossus remains one of the greatest games of all-time due to its innovative gameplay, minimalist environments, and emotional journey. If you haven't played this one yet, now would be a good time to pick it up.

The second PS Plus game that's given for free next month, Sonic Forces is a game made in commemoration of the Sonic the Hedgehog series' 25th anniversary. It was launched three years ago and features three game modes: Classic, Modern, and Avatar.

It's an action-adventure platform game that plays similar to Sonic the Hedgehog games. It lets players choose from three playable characters: two variants of Sonic the Hedgehog and the Avatar (the player's custom character).

Keep in mind that if you haven't added the current PS Plus free games to your library, Bioshock: The Collection and the Sims 4, you only have until March 2 to do so.
