Scott Disick and Kourtney Kardashian ended their 9-year romance in July this year, after several reports of infidelity on his part. Until now, neither had said anything on the topic, but they did make a point not to be photographed together anymore and to drop hints in this sense on social media.

That’s because they were saving the juiciest bits for the reality TV cameras, as the brand-new teaser for season 11 of their E!-produced reality show available below can confirm. The Kourtney-Scott split wasn’t discussed in the media because it was probably supposed from the start to play out on TV.

Scott cries, begs for sympathy

The video shows footage from Khloe Kardashian’s highly publicized Complex shoot and how she basks in all the attention she’s receiving for her new, slimmer and much toned figure, but also scenes from the Kardashian annual holiday, usually paid for by the network.

As anticipated, rapper Tyga, who has been dating the youngest, Kylie Jenner, since she was 15 or 16, will be included as a series regular. It won’t be without drama, though, because otherwise no one would be watching anymore.

However, the biggest chunk of the promo is dedicated to Scott and how much he’s suffering now that Kourtney kicked him out of the house after he relapsed and cheated on her with an ex during a vacation in Monte Carlo.

Confronted by Kris, Kim and Khloe, he’s wiping away tears, while hiding behind dark shades, lamenting his current single status. “It’s been a really hard time going from like having all of you guys to having nobody,” he says.

The cameras even follow him around as he settles into his new house, so all that talk about how he would eventually be cut from the show as revenge for breaking Kourtney’s heart was obviously unfounded.

Manufactured drama

Reality television was never “real” in the sense that viewers might imagine, and it’s less so now. The Kardashians have the longest running reality series ever, but that doesn’t mean that they get any credit for being as “real” as they claim to be.

Many of the storylines shown are either completely fabricated or made more dramatic on purpose, which makes sense: this is entertainment and no one would tune in to see the same thing over and over again.

This is one of the reasons why even fans have come to believe that the breakup between Scott and Kourtney is made up, or at least exaggerated to add more dramatic tension. After all, seeing how Kim was accused of marrying Kris Humphries for 72 days just so she could get her wedding special (and millions of dollars from it), staging a breakup would be a tame thing to do, by comparison.

KUWTK will be back on E! on November 11, 2015.
