The Pegasus Expedition is a brand-new sci-fi grand strategy game now in development by Kalla Gameworks. The game has just been announced for PC but doesn't have a release date yet, which means it's still early in development.

The reveal trailer launched today sheds some light on the game's story but doesn't include any gameplay footage. In any case, the folks at Kalla Gameworks did talk a bit about The Pegasus Expedition, so here is what we know so far.

First off, developers promise a huge handcrafted world, a replayable campaign set in a rich, vast world, with each unique playthrough lasting up to over 40 hours. This is a bold statement that won't be easy to achieve.

In The Pegasus Expedition, players will be able to choose what leader they wish to be, as they will face difficult moral choices in difficult times and suffer their consequences. The diplomacy system is supposed to offer meaningful outcomes, as developers will add more than 30 independent factions across the galaxy.

The Pegasus Expedition is first and foremost a story-driven game, so we expect a strong narrative, doubled by the classic 4X-gameplay that involves managing diplomatic ties, armies, economy, and scientific development.

The premise of the game feels rather overused: “facing an overwhelming threat at home, humanity sends expeditions to the Pegasus Galaxy in a desperate attempt to find a refuge for the population of Earth, only to find themselves in the middle of an interstellar war they inadvertently started.”

Keep in mind that The Pegasus Expedition has only been confirmed for PC (via Steam), but that's understandable considering the genre. We'll keep you in the loop with everything involving Kalla Gameworks' upcoming title, so stick around for more details on how it plays and when it launches.
