Great news for those waiting for Samsung's new Tizen-powered smartphone, the Z3, as the company confirmed the device would go on sale in just a few days.

According to Samsung India, the Z3 will be available for purchase in the country for just Rs 8,490 outright, which is about $130 or €115.

A dedicated website for Samsung Z3 is already available so customers will be able to purchase it online, but other authorized retailers across the country will offer the smartphone as well, probably at slightly better prices.

The Z3 is the sequel to the very popular Samsung Z1, the first Tizen-powered smartphone launched by the South Korean company.

Because the Z1 sales managed to exceed Samsung's expectations, the handset maker has decided that a successor is the right answer.

“A quick and intuitive UI of Samsung Z3 gives you the liberty to do more. The most used apps are accessible at the touch of your home screen.

“And all the other apps are just a swipe away. With the Z3 you can now also customise the UI with different themes,” explains Samsung.

Tizen OS 2.3 is even better than the previous version

Hardware-wise, Samsung Z3 is decent enough, as the smartphone is equipped with a 1.3GHz quad-core Spreadtrum processor, 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal memory.

In addition, the smartphone includes microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 128GB). On the back, the Z3 packs an 8-megapixel photo snapper with autofocus, LED flash and video recording, while in the front there's a secondary 5-megapixel selfie camera.

Another strong point of the Z3 is the 5-inch Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen display that supports HD (720p) resolution.

It's also worth mentioning that Samsung Z3 supports dual-SIM and 3G connectivity, as well as Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi, FM Radio, microUSB 2.0 and GPS with AGPS support. Samsung Z3 is powered by a 2,600 mAh battery, which has yet to be rated by the manufacturer.
