Reports from a few days ago indicated that Samsung intended to release the new Samsung Z2 smartphone on August 11, during the Galaxy Note 7 unveiling in India. Wallpapers from the device have already leaked online, and it seems that specs of Samsung Z2 have also made their way to the Internet.

SamMobile reports that Samsung Z2 will come with a 3.97-inch 800 x 480 pixel resolution LCD display and will be powered by a 1.5GHz processor, coupled with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of storage. It will also feature a 5MP rear camera and a VGA front camera. In addition, it will draw power from a 1,500mAh battery and will run Tizen v2.4.

The handset will come with support for LTE, GPS, Glonass, Bluetooth 4.0, USB 2.0, and Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n. It will also come with some accessories in the box, like a 5V 0.7A charger and headset.

Samsung Z2 will carry a price tag of about $70

The report mentions that Samsung Z2 will be available in the following countries: Saudi Arabia, Bangladesh, Nigeria, India, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Turkey, South Africa, Indonesia, and the United Arab Emirates. The smartphone should cost approximately $70, which is similar to the previously rumored price.

The specs of this upcoming smartphone are far from satisfactory, as rumored specifications were much more optimistic, including when it comes to battery capacity. However, considering the price of the phone, it's quite suitable for the device to have such low-end specs.

Samsung Z2 will be the handset with the lowest specs compared to other Tizen-powered devices in the Z series. It has the smallest display, as the Z1 has a 4.0-inch screen, while the Z3 comes with a 5.0-inch display and a 720x1280 pixel resolution.

RAM capacity will be similar to previous models in the series, as will be the case of the storage capacity too, while the battery is the smallest we've seen in a while. Still, Samsung may be using the Z2 in order to test consumer reaction to Tizen-powered smartphones in certain markets.
