Samsung is believed to be working on a new Galaxy smartphone, but this time the main highlight would be a pretty large battery whose capacity gets close to the one of a typical tablet.

More specifically, recently spotted documents show that what’s believed to be the Galaxy M41 has been certified in China, and the most important feature is a 7,000 mAh battery.

That’s right, this phone is supposed to come with a 7,000 mAh battery, and as said, this is the kind of battery that you can find on a tablet these days.

The largest battery available on Samsung’s Galaxy lineup is a 6,000 mAh unit, so the jump to 7,000 mAh would obviously be huge. And at the same time, it also hints at other features of the device, as it’s likely to come with a rather large screen too.

Next stop: Galaxy Note20

The M41, which has until now been considered to be canceled, is seen by many as just the first model that makes the jump to a large battery with 7,000 mAh. And truth be told, the rest of the Galaxy phones would benefit from this upgrade as well, especially as the size of the display is increasing too.

I know what you’re thinking: is Samsung planning a massive upgrade on the Galaxy S lineup too? That’s rather unlikely for now, albeit a small increase is still possible next year.

The next important release for Samsung is the Galaxy Note20 coming in early August, but spec-wise, this new device is expected to share most of the hardware with the Galaxy S20.

For now, however, it’s pretty clear that Samsung is exploring ways to bring larger batteries to its smartphones, and it’s probably just a matter of time until massive upgrades in this regard make their way to more and more devices manufactured by the South Korean company.
